A Greek illegal immigrant endures a self-imposed penance on a rundown highland farm until the exploitations of the Scottish crofter and her resentful English partner force him to face his past.
As He Lay Falling is being adapted from the short film of the same name with support from Creative Scotland and the BFI Network. The feature screenplay was long-listed for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab and developed with Berlin based story consultants Solace23. The project was showcased in the New Talent Strand of Film London’s Production Finance Market at BFI London Film Festival and further developed through Edinburgh International Film Festival’s bespoke feature programme Talent Lab Connects.
